In the shade of a majestic Norfolk pine tree, you can enjoy a gastronomic event at the new Coldstream Restaurant. Named after the officers of the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards, the restaurant offers patrons the option of dining indoors or outdoors in our shady garden. All whilst overlooking the magnificent 130 year old Dutch Reformed Church.
In 1875 The Graaff Reinet Club was established and in 1880 a new clubhouse was erected on Church Square. From 1900-1902 the officers of the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards, stationed at Graaff Reinet, made use of the club. Today, the Coldstream Restaurant is housed in the northern wing of this historical building and forms part of the of the historical Graaff-Reinet Club (Men’s Club).
In this historic ambiance, visitors will find an extensive menu feauturing mouth watering Italian cuisine, from Stuffed Tortellini and Pasta, to Pizza and Tiramisu. The restaurant features its own built in pizza oven ensuring delicious authentic pizzas, preparred the traditional way. There is also a full Kids Menu and a selection of Desserts which will linger in the mind for a long time.
This beautiful and historical venue with an open air terrace, wooden deck, and kids play area, serves meals from the grill as well as a great variety of light meals with a local and international flavour. All the dishes are complimented with superb wines from our capacious selection of fine wines, which along with the cuisine would make for an unforgettable dining experience in this beautiful Karoo town.
